UI organization is horrible with many redundancies and non-intuitive paths to what you want to accomplish. This looks like an app that development engineers hacked up to get the system working. How could they package this together with such and archaid grade school level app? Go figure?Īpp has issues with Denon Home product line (in my case, a mixture of Home250 and Home350 speakers) They look good, sound great and the go pack is phenomenal.

NOT!! Very disappointed in Denon that they don't care enough to put a decent app out there to run an otherwise awesome product. I have had these for over a year praying for the day that Denon would try to save their reputation by updating this app with a new awesome version. The app is also very basic with no real features at all.

The app doesn't remember anything you have done before and the devices constantly lose Bluetooth connection. This takes a minimum of 10 minutes and has to be done everytime you use them. I have to toggle back and forth between Bluetooth trying to connect and the HEOS app trying to pair until they finally work. If you then try linking the two devices to play together which they call "pairing the devices" it takes multiple tries as well. Then I have to go back into Bluetooth and connect to the devices all over again. The app will come up and say "searching for devices" but won't find them, even if I am standing right next to them until I do it multiple times. Everytime I use them I have to go into the app and find the devices and reconnect them to Bluetooth.
HEOS APP TROUBLESHOOTING SERIES
I have two HEOS 1 Series 2 speakers with go packs that look and sound amazing when they work. ROON seems ridiculously expensive for someone who doesn't have a gigantic hoard of pirated digital music. This is the worst music app ever. It would be nice if they put more money into polishing up the HEOS interface and functionality. Give me high resolution streaming all day long though. I've just never really been a huge fan of Pandora, Spotifiy, etc. I gladly pay a monthly fee to get whatever I want in high resolution and keep the cops off me.

I've never listened to so much music in my lifetime and I was into MP3 since it was first popping up on personal FTP servers advertised on MiRC forums in like 1997. That said, I've LOVED having HEOS built in to stream Amazon HD Ultra straight into my receiver. I'm also often using higher bitrate streams using HEOS so maybe that has an impact.

What I've noticed is that if I'm using my internet connection to UPLOAD something it is the biggest pain with the HEOS freezing up and refusing to DOWNLOAD a stream selection or it chokes and skips to the next song. and Amazon will not - which it says is from the Amazon end and maybe that's true idk. Tidal will allow you to create a queue and add songs, albums, etc. There are varying levels of functionality based on streaming service. I've used it on Andriod and Apple IOS now and it's about the same. If the Marantz is like my Denon all you have to do is hold down the power button and it will 'reset' the unit which reestablishes the wifi connection and that fixes several issues including the flaky HEOS issues for me. Well, my first bit of advice is to not unplug your receiver and plug it back in.
